Serious Soccer.

Local Roots.

Competitive teams, player-first coaching, and a mission that’s stayed true since 1997.

Overview

Grand River FC is a nonprofit, community-run soccer club serving the greater Lowell, Michigan area. We provide competitive, developmental soccer for players from U7 to U19, without the inflated costs or big-club distractions.

Our goal is simple: develop the player, elevate the game.

We coach with intention. We build teams that last. And we stay committed to the families and players who make GRFC what it is — the best bang for your buck in West Michigan soccer.

History

In 1997, we kicked off our journey as LASSO (Lowell Area Select Soccer Organization) with just a handful of coaches, a few dedicated teams, and a singular vision: to pave a competitive pathway for local athletes without losing our hometown soul.

Over nearly three decades, Grand River FC has grown in scale and skill, but the heartbeat of the club remains unchanged. We are still proudly volunteer-powered, deeply rooted in Lowell, and relentlessly focused on helping every single player unlock their full potential.

Today, our alumni dominate on high school pitches, collegiate stadiums, and in the coaching ranks. They are shaping the future of the game—but their stories all share the same opening chapter: right here, in red and white.

Mission

To provide affordable, high-quality, community-based soccer that prioritizes player development, character, and competitiveness.

We train athletes for the game — and for life. We value hard work over raw talent, team success over individual stats, and long-term growth over short-term results.

Our Values

We believe in…

✅ Development over convenience

Our coaching is intentional, personal, and built to last.

✅ Community at the core

Families aren’t just spectators here — they’re part of the club.

✅ Affordable excellence

High-level soccer shouldn’t come with high-level costs.

✅ Respect on and off the field

We grow players who compete hard and lead with integrity.

✅ Local pride, competitive edge

We play to win — but we play the right way.
